At the University of Toledo, the
Women’s & Gender Studies Department offers courses
taught by faculty
with national and international scholarly and research reputations
not only in Women’s and Gender Studies, but also in their other
disciplinary areas, such as Biology, Chemistry, Culture Studies,
Education, Literary Studies, Environmental Studies, Film Studies,
History, International Studies, Law, Library Science, Philosophy,
Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work. Students can major or minor
in Women’s & Gender Studies or they can double-major, combining
their Women’s and Gender Studies major with one in any other
academic discipline.
Students may also take advantage of other exciting
educational opportunities, which include study abroad, service
learning, co-ops, internships, externships, and
fieldwork.

Requirements for admittance into the
college: Four English units, three math units (algebra I, II
and geometry), and two units of a single foreign language are
required of all first-year students entering the College of Arts
& Sciences. Three
units each of natural science and social sciences are also
strongly recommended. University of Toledo requirements for
graduation: The core requirements includes 6 hours of
English Composition, 3 hours of mathematics, and 14 of a foreign
language (may be waived for students based on placement test).
